Softball Recap: Walnut Takes a Loss

Walnut's last matchup with Hatley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. Walnut came up short against Hatley, falling 7-1. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Walnut saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Hicks, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Walnut and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Hatley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Walnut Wildcats duke it out with Baldwyn Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hatley, they will head out to face off against Nettleton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hatley 4.1, Nettleton 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
