Baseball Recap: Scranton Takes a Loss

Scranton managed to slip by Scranton Prep the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Knights came up short against the Cavaliers on Saturday, falling 11-3. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Scranton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thor Kelly, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. Joe McIntyre was another, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Scranton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Scranton Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Scranton will face off against rival West Scranton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Scranton Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Wallenpaupack Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
