Baseball Recap: Windsor Wins Going Away Against Ukiah

Windsor barely beat Ukiah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Brandon Curry and Micah Sanders made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Curry tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Sanders struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Curry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Curry went 3-for-4 with two runs, while Sanders went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Sanders has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Windsor let Rogan Billigmeier and Noah Strozewski run wild. Billigmeier went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Strozewski got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Those two RBI gave Billigmeier a new career-high.

Windsor's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Ukiah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Windsor will venture away from home to face off against Vintage at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ukiah, they will welcome Rancho Cotate at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
