Volleyball Recap: Caruthers Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Caruthers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sierra Chieftains. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Raiders of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Caruthers ultimately came up short, they really made Sierra work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 27-25.

Among those leading the charge was Nicole Gibson, who had 18 assists and 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave her a new career-high.

Caruthers' defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Sierra, they pushed their record up to 30-11 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Caruthers is set to face off against their familiar foe Minarets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sierra will take on rival Fowler at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
