Baseball Game Preview: Thomas-Fay-Custer Terriers vs. Seiling Wildcats

Thomas-Fay-Custer hasn't had much luck against Seiling recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Terriers will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m.

Thomas-Fay-Custer is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Verden.

Meanwhile, Seiling made easy work of Cherokee on Monday and carried off a 15-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Seth Whetstone made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Whetstone was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Chain, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stryker Worman, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Seiling is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Thomas-Fay-Custer, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
