Basketball Recap: Pitkin Comes Up Short

Pitkin was the 57-45 winner over Anacoco when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Indians are ranked 42nd).

Anacoco found their leader in freshman Landon Tinsley, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Tinsley has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tanner Dowden, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks.

Pitkin's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Anacoco, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2.

Pitkin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-49 victory against Sacred Heart on the 27th. As for Anacoco, they have also already played their next contest, a 51-36 win against Glenmora on the 30th.
