Basketball Game Preview: Barrington Eagles vs. East Providence Townies

The Barrington Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the East Providence Townies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Barrington came up short against Central and fell 77-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (66), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Barrington's loss came about despite a quality game from Colin McDermott, who posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave McDermott a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Satisfield, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, East Providence had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Kilties out 55-53.

East Providence's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Barrington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Barrington against East Providence when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 65-38 victory. Does Barrington have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Providence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
