Montgomery is a perfect 10-0 against Sugar Valley Rural since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Raiders will face off against the Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Montgomery couldn't beat Warrior Run on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Red Raiders lost 10-4 to the Defenders.

Montgomery saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Persing, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Sugar Valley Rural had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Bucktail 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Brody Swanger, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Bentley Andrus also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Sugar Valley Rural, their win bumped their record up to 3-8-1.

Everything went Montgomery's way against Sugar Valley Rural in their previous matchup back in March, as Montgomery made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
