Baseball Game Preview: Crystal River Pirates vs. Springstead Eagles

Crystal River is 2-8 against Springstead since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Crystal River lost 11-1 to Weeki Wachee on Friday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Springstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Hernando, falling 7-1.

Springstead saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathaniel Sabino, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Andrew Ward also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Crystal River's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Springstead, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Crystal River couldn't quite get it done against Springstead when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 20-17. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
