Basketball Recap: Charlotte Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons lost to Sports Leadership & Management on the road by a 56-37 margin.

When it comes to explaining why Charlotte lost, don't look at Adrienne Harris. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most steals Harris has posted since back in January of 2024. Dakota Galley was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Charlotte smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Charlotte has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-34 victory against Sarasota on the 7th. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-55 win against Mater Lakes Academy on the 7th.
