Softball Recap: Liberty Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Liberty won the last time they faced Oak Hill and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Raiders came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 10-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Maddie Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Allie Bowles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Stella Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Liberty's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Hill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will challenge James Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Hill, they will face off against South Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
