Baseball Recap: Granite Hills Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Granite Hills got themselves on the board against Grossmont on Thursday, but Grossmont never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Foothillers. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Granite Hills let Phillip Jones and Brodey Vicars run wild. Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Vicars went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Vicars a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anthony Miotti, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Granite Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grossmont only managed four hits.

Granite Hills pushed their record up to 14-0-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Grossmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
