Baseball Recap: Upperman Drops Season-High Score on White County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upperman). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the White County Warriors a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bees with their most commanding win of the season.

Julian Llano made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Shupe, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Justin Fallon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Upperman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White County only posted a batting average of .000.

Upperman's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for White County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Upperman will square off against Smith County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Smith County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Upperman surely won't give up without a fight. As for White County, they will challenge Cannon County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
