Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cardinal Spellman walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Pope Francis Prep on Thursday. Cardinal Spellman not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Among those leading the charge was Lily Carey, who had six digs and three aces.

Carey wasn't the only good servers: Cardinal Spellman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Cardinal Spellman's record now sits at 10-11. As for Pope Francis Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Cardinal Spellman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Weston on the 31st. Pope Francis Prep has also already played their next contest (against Tewksbury Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
