Baseball Recap: Lee County Find Success

Lee County came out on top against Jack Britt on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Yellow Jackets took their matchup against the Buccaneers 12-7. The Yellow Jackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Buccaneers, too.

Drew Stanfield and Gavin Swann did most of the damage at the plate: Stanfield went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Swann got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and one double. Stanfield is becoming a predictor of Lee County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Brad Jordan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lee County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

The win got Lee County back to even at 10-10. As for Jack Britt, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Lee County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-4 defeat against Scotland on the 16th. As for Jack Britt, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 loss against Gray's Creek on the 22nd.
