The North Pontotoc Vikings will head out to square off against the Louisville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North Pontotoc has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Louisville will arrive with five straight wins.

North Pontotoc heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They fell just short of Senatobia by a score of 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since January 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Louisville earned a 37-27 victory over Caledonia on Thursday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Louisville's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. As for North Pontotoc, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.
