Basketball Recap: Victoria East Takes a Loss

Victoria East lost against Randle back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Victoria East Titans took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Randle Lions. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sheldon Cobbin, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Jacob Davis was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Victoria East's loss dropped their record down to 19-16. As for Randle, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 19-12 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Victoria East will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Spring Woods on February 18th. As for Randle, they will welcome Victoria West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Randle's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Victoria West has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
