Baseball Recap: Stansbury Comes Up Short

Stansbury lost against Juan Diego Catholic last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Stallions fell just short of the Soaring Eagle by a score of 3-1. The Stallions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Karmine Gallegos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

Stansbury's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Juan Diego Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-9.

While Stansbury had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
