Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for West Orange-Stark

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Marque, West Orange-Stark was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bridge City Cardinals, sneaking past 46-44. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while the Cardinals are ranked 254th).

West Orange-Stark is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Bridge City, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

West Orange-Stark will take on Little Cypress-Mauriceville in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange-Stark is facing Little Cypress-Mauriceville at the right time seeing as Little Cypress-Mauriceville is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bridge City, they will be home for the holidays to greet Vidor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vidor will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bridge City surely won't give up without a fight.
