Baseball Recap: Edcouch-Elsa Comes Up Short

Edcouch-Elsa couldn't beat Donna on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 9-8. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redskins earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Steven Rivera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Barco, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Edcouch-Elsa has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Donna, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-12.

Coming up, Edcouch-Elsa will be playing at home against Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Cowboys at the right time seeing as the Cowboys are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Donna will be paying especially close attention to Edcouch-Elsa's match: after Edcouch-Elsa faces off against Donna, they'll take on Donna again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
