Recap: Coffee Trojans vs. Jenkins Warriors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ware County, the Coffee Trojans were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 44-35 victory over Jenkins. That's another feather in the cap for Coffee, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Coffee was led to victory by Marquavious Bussey and Tyriq Edwards. Bussey scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Edwards scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Edwards is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Coffee's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Jenkins, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coffee and the Panthers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Clinch County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully the Trojans likes a good challenge. As for Jenkins, they and the Tigers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bradwell Institute will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak alive.
