Softball Game Preview: Flomaton Hurricanes vs. Escambia County Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Flomaton will face off against Escambia County. The Hurricanes will venture away from home to take on the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Flomaton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Escambia County 15-0. The Hurricanes not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12, 2025 (when they won 16-1).

Caren Akers looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zhoe Phillips, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Zoe White, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Everything went Flomaton's way against Escambia County in their previous meeting on Tuesday, as Flomaton made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
