Basketball Recap: Freedom Prep Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Memphis School of Excellence Winchester last Thursday, Freedom Prep Academy came back down to earth. The Freedom Prep Academy Eagles were dealt a 79-47 loss at the hands of the Fairley Bulldogs on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 70th).

Fairley found their leader in sophomore Alarin Polk, who en route to 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The contest was Polk's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Chatman, who posted 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Freedom Prep Academy dropped their record down to 10-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Fairley, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-5.

As of now, neither Freedom Prep Academy nor Fairley have any future games scheduled.
