Basketball Game Preview: Granville Blue Aces vs. Whitehall-Yearling Rams

Granville is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Whitehall-Yearling is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Granville Blue Aces will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Whitehall-Yearling Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Granville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 win over Licking Valley on Saturday. The Blue Aces pushed the score to 61-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling had to suffer through a 93-61 loss at the hands of Conner. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 411th in Ohio, while the Cougars are ranked 69th in Kentucky).

Whitehall-Yearling has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Granville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Granville skirted past Whitehall-Yearling 55-52 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Granville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Whitehall-Yearling turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
