Basketball Recap: Deer Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cactus last Tuesday, Deer Valley came back down to earth. The Deer Valley Skyhawks came up short against the Peoria Panthers on Thursday, falling 52-27. The Skyhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Peoria got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was De'Miyah Petty out in front who posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Michelle Kogbara, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 boards.

Deer Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Peoria, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Deer Valley has already played their next match (against Agua Fria), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Peoria has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Westview.
