Softball Recap: Ironton Starts Season with Victory Against Warren

Ironton took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They never let the Warren Warriors get on the board and left with a 14-0 win.

The result came thanks to Ava Bihl's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Ironton got a massive performance out of Layla Townsend, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Townsend a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Miley Bias, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, Ironton will face off against Turpin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Warren, they will square off against Morgan at 11:00 a.m. on March 22nd.
