Baseball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Royal Palm Beach's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Seminole Ridge Hawks on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 15, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Royal Palm Beach got a good showing from Brandon Valdez, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Valdez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Royal Palm Beach is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-7 otherwise.

Royal Palm Beach now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Seminole Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Royal Palm Beach Wildcats take on Dwyer Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seminole Ridge, they will head out on the road to take on Palm Beach Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Palm Beach Central 3.4, Seminole Ridge 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
