Football Recap: Mary Star of the Sea Starts Season with Win at Home

Mary Star of the Sea took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Eastside Lions. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Mary Star of the Sea got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tanner Rollins out in front who threw for 240 yards and five TDs on only 18 passes. The dominant performance also gave Rollins a new career-high in rushing yards (15). Dallas Christopher also helped with three touchdowns in total.

Eastside is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mary Star of the Sea is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastside, they will head out to face off against Nordhoff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
