Basketball Recap: Tri County Northeast Comes Up Short

Tri County Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Ponca Indians and fell 63-30. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-25 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Tri County Northeast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Briley Anderson went 6-for-9 on her way to 17 points. What's more, Anderson also posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Tri County Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Ponca, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12.

Tri County Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ponca, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-43 defeat against Homer on the 18th.
