Baseball Recap: Carson Colts vs. Taft Toreadors
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carson had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They skirted past the Taft Toreadors 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted against the Toreadors since February 16, 2016.

Carson got a great performance from Salvador Carillo as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Carillo a new career-high.
At the plate, Xavier Allen was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kris Sinclair, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Carson has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 7-24.
