Volleyball Recap: Stevens Point Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Nora Kruger and Addi Peskie

If Stevens Point was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Wausau East last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes on Tuesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Old Abes earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Stevens Point started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 9-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Addi Peskie and Nora Kruger certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Peskie had nine digs, while Kruger had nine kills, nine digs, and seven aces. Kruger has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last nine times she's played.

Stevens Point's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stevens Point will face off against Wausau West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they will square off against River Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Old Abes surely won't give up without a fight.
