Softball Game Preview: Tallwood Lions vs. Kempsville Chiefs

Tallwood is 2-8 against Kempsville since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Tallwood managed to slip by Cox the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Falcons on Wednesday, falling 11-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Kempsville's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ocean Lakes.

Kempsville's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Tallwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
