Recap: Lamar Raiders vs. Copiah Academy Colonels
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lamar Raiders can now relate to. They fell 28-21 to Copiah Academy on Friday. Lamar was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Copiah Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.
When it comes to explaining why Lamar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Wyatt Bond. Despite the final result, he threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns. Tripp Morrow was another key contributor, picking up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Copiah Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Copiah Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Adams County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Adams County Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
