Evansville Mater Dei took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They beat the South Knox Spartans by a goal, winning 3-2. This was payback for Evansville Mater Dei, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

They hit South Knox with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Louis Meredith, Carson Burns, and Judah Wilson.

Evansville Mater Dei will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Evansville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for South Knox, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Evansville Christian on the 19th.
