Basketball Recap: Cardinal Stritch Comes Up Short

Cardinal Stritch lost against St. Joseph Central Catholic back in November of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crimson Streaks.

Despite the loss, Cardinal Stritch still got an impressive performance from Amaya Hill, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 17 boards. Hill is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla (KK) Miltz, who posted 14 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Kayla Hessick was nothing short of spectacular for St. Joseph Central Catholic: she shot 41% from the field to rack up 30 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Sarah Holman, who had eight points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

Cardinal Stritch's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Cardinal Stritch will head out to square off against North Baltimore at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-45 defeat against Monroeville on the 28th.
