No. 21 Cass Tech, No. 23 Clay-Chalkville only MaxPreps Top 25 teams in postseason action this week.

The 2025 high school football season is approaching the final leg with playoffs underway or getting close in most states. Only six MaxPreps Top 25 teams are in action this weekend with the rest awaiting the postseason.

The biggest game is taking place in Arizona in a huge rivalry showdown between No. 19 Hamilton (Chandler) and Chandler on Friday.

Hamilton features an explosive offense headlined by a couple of Class of 2028 standouts in Jax Sculley and Roye Oliver III. On the other sideline, head coach Ty Wisdom has led the Wolves to an 8-1 record in his first year and Chandler has won seven in a row after a 24-23 loss to Cathedral Catholic (San Diego).

This will be the 33rd all-time meeting in the series with Hamilton holding a 21-11 edge.

No. 10 Edna Karr (New Orleans) won its 24th straight game scoring the final 35 points to close out the regular season with a 35-14 win over Archbishop Rummel (Metairie). The Cougars head into the playoffs looking to win their sixth state title since 2016 and second consecutive Division I Select crown.

In Alabama, No. 23 Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, Ala.) rolled to a 49-26 win over Jackson-Olin (Birmingham) in the opening round of the 6A bracket. They will face the winner of Gadsden City (Gadsden, Ala.) and Jasper (Jasper, Ala.) on Nov. 14 in the round of 16.

No. 17 De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) and No. 18 Bixby (Okla.) also finish up the regular season this week. De La Salle looks to go undefeated during the regular season for the second straight year as it hosts Clayton Valley Charter (Concord) on Friday. Bixby plays at Norman on Friday before it goes for its eighth consecutive state title and 11th over the last 12 years.

No. 21 Cass Tech (Detroit) takes on Fordson (Dearborn) in the second round of the Division 1 bracket. The Technicians improved to 10-0 with a 46-3 win over Northville in the opening round. The defending Division 1 state champs are riding a 20-game win streak.
