Football Recap: West Jefferson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

West Jefferson had won three straight games and Austin Buescher did his part to make it four on Friday. The Roughriders claimed a resounding 62-26 victory over the Cedarville Indians with plenty of help from Buescher, who threw for 435 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 317.5 passing yards per game.

Another player making a difference was Wade Reeve, who picked up 89 receiving yards and three TDs. He didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended one pass.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to West Jefferson's defense and their three sacks. Luke Walters refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

West Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cedarville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, West Jefferson will face off against Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Irish's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Roughriders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cedarville, they will be playing at home against Triad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
