Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Celebration Storm 46-4. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 624th, while the Storm are ranked 270th).

Leading Celebration to victory were Sofia Ortiz and Evelyn Juden. Ortiz went 6 for 8 en route to 13 points along with six steals and five boards, while Juden went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and three steals. That's the most rebounds Ortiz has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Locher, who posted six points.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Celebration, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Celebration has already played their next matchup (against Poinciana), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
