Soccer Recap: Wimberley Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Wimberley and Davenport have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Wimberley Texans fell 3-1 to the Davenport Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in February.

Wimberley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Davenport, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Wimberley will welcome Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wimberley is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Canyon Lake a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Davenport, they will head out to face off against Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.
