Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Thunder vs. Ridge Community Bolts
Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Ridge Community Bolts. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bolts this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss last Friday.
Yatnielis Medina Gonzalez paced Lake Region's offense, picking up five kills. Medina Gonzalez really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. Charlotte Williams controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Among those leading the charge was Jianielix Rodriguez, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matchups.
Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Ridge Community, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Ridge Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Davenport on the 4th. Hopefully Lake Region paid attention to the Bolts' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bolts at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
