Football Recap: South Side Beats Monessen for Their Fourth Straight Victory

South Side extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Andrew Corfield. The Rams took down the Monessen Greyhounds 21-6 on Friday for which the team can thank Corfield, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 rushing yards.

South Side didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Amare Moman and Eli Buchanon.

South Side's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Monessen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Side will square off against Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Flames' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Monessen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chartiers-Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Greyhounds will be up against the Buccaneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
