Basketball Game Preview: Mountainside Wolves vs. San Pasqual Valley Warriors

Mountainside is on an 11-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, San Pasqual Valley a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Mountainside Wolves will get right back to it and host the San Pasqual Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Monday, Mountainside lost to St. John Paul II Catholic on the road by a 59-43 margin.

Meanwhile, San Pasqual Valley came up short against Salome on Wednesday, falling 57-32.

Mountainside will need focus on slowing down Isaiah Martinez, one of several San Pasqual Valley players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Sisomphou, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Mountainside's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for San Pasqual Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Mountainside skirted past San Pasqual Valley 40-38 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Mountainside repeat their success, or does San Pasqual Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
