Softball Game Preview: Garnet Valley Jaguars vs. Upper Dublin Cardinals

The Garnet Valley Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Upper Dublin Cardinals at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Garnet Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Garnet Valley's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Lower Merion. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Aces recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Garnet Valley got a great performance from Ashlyn Thompson as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Thompson has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alaina Sareyka was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Zoey Rogers, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Garnet Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lower Merion only posted an OBP of .263.

Bayard Rustin typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Upper Dublin proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Golden Knights 2-0.

Upper Dublin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Garnet Valley, their record now sits at 11-8.
