Baseball Recap: Chariho Find Success

Chariho won against Johnston on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Chargers came out on top against the Middletown Islanders by a score of 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Adam Carpenter was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Chariho is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Carpenter was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rohan Downing was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Luke Hoffman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Chariho now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Middletown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Chariho has already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Stonington on the 24th. As for Middletown, they will square off against Prout at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Islanders surely won't give up without a fight.
