Softball Recap: Marysville Getchell Beats Shorecrest for Their Third Straight Win

Marysville Getchell entered their tilt with Shorecrest on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Scots with a sharp 12-5 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marysville Getchell also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Elle Glover made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Glover was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Lilyana Balgos was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was May Valencia, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Marysville Getchell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.
