Soccer Game Preview: Henrico vs. Highland Springs

Henrico is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Highland Springs a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Henrico Warriors will look to defend their home pitch against the Highland Springs Springers at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Henrico's offense. They came up short against Patrick Henry on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Henrico can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Patrick Henry are ranked 125th).

Meanwhile, Highland Springs also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 17-0 to Mechanicsville on Tuesday.

Henrico's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Highland Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Henrico might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Highland Springs in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
