Softball Recap: Boone Grove Comes Up Short

Boone Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Crockett County Cavaliers, falling 12-4.

Boone Grove saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Botma, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Botma has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Madison Kaufman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Boone Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Boone Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Crockett County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Boone Grove and Crown Point will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crockett County, they will face off against Dunlap at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
