Basketball Recap: Indian Rocks Christian Victorious

Indian Rocks Christian won the last time they faced Osceola and things went their way on Friday too. The Indian Rocks Christian Eagles walked away with a 48-40 victory over the Osceola Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

It was another big night for Malia Stevens, who posted 20 points. Kayleigh Atkinson was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six assists and five boards.

Indian Rocks Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matches.

Osceola's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Jenezon, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Jenezon is becoming a predictor of Osceola's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Turner, who had 11 points.

The win got Indian Rocks Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Indian Rocks Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Forest at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Indian Rocks Christian is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Osceola, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Palm Harbor University at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
