Basketball Game Preview: Reagan Raiders vs. Walkertown Wolfpack

The Reagan Raiders and the Walkertown Wolfpack will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Reagan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Reagan took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Glenn 72-36. The Raiders pushed the score to 53-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats had no chance of recovering from.

Reagan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lincoln Jackson led the charge by putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. What's more, Jackson also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Jayden McCrae was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points.

Reagan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Walkertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of West Stokes.

The win got Reagan back to even at 3-3. As for Walkertown, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Reagan came up short against Walkertown in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 61-54. Can Reagan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
