Basketball Recap: Miracle Cheeks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Greenville over Woodmont

Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 50-40 to the Woodmont Wildcats. The Red Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 73-45.

Greenville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Miracle Cheeks, who went 7-for-17 en route to 14 points. A'Keyra Harris was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Greenville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Woodmont, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

Greenville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-34 win against Indian Land on the 17th. As for Woodmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-30 victory against Catawba Ridge on the 17th.
